SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 016.24 to provide stakeholders with an overview of five additions and one revision to the European Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC).
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) made this announcement on January 23, 2024. The five substances added to the list are:
– 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenol
– 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol
– 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one
– Bumetrizole (UV-326)
– Oligomerisation and alkylation reaction products of 2-phenylpropene and phenol
In addition, the classification for dibutyl phthalate (DBP) has been expanded to include its endocrine disrupting properties.
