SGS Summarizes Update of Chinese National Standards for Physical and Chemical Performance of Garments

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a summary of updates for two Chinese national standards regulating the physical and chemical performance of garments.

GB/T 21294-2024 on the Testing methods of physical and chemical performance of garments and GB/T 21295-2024 on the Requirements of physical and chemical performance of garments were issued by the Standardization Administration of China and become effective on October 1, 2024. They replace the previous versions, GB/T 21294-2014 and GB/T 21295-2014.

The scope of the standards covers requirements and testing methods for garments mainly made of woven changes and there are multiple changes compared with the previous versions.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulations that may impact their business. SafeGuardS 126.24 provides information on the revisions, additions and deletions that have been included in GB/T 21294-2024 and GB/T 21295-2024 compared with the previous versions.
