Communication and IT devices in the spotlight for new Saudi conformity guidelines

Geneva (March 13, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, provides an update on new regulations in Saudi Arabia for communication and IT devices.

With a Saudi Arabian riyal (SAR) 20 billion market for mobile communication devices, regulators in the Kingdom are expanding conformity guidelines for importers. Accredited organizations such as SGS provide expertise to help businesses navigate the regulatory updates and help to ensure safety and performance.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) have released updated guidelines for the ‘Technical Regulation for Communications and Information Technology Devices’. These offer advice on implementation of the mandatory SABER digital platform, required documentation and test report validity. They are intended to streamline processes and reinforce compliance.

As a trusted conformity body, SGS provides product evaluation and certification against SASO’s technical regulations, enabling businesses to meet the highest quality and safety standards and protect consumers in Saudi Arabia.
