Geneva (October 7, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Instituto Argentino de Normalización y Certificación (IRAM) to streamline certification processes for toys and personal protective equipment (PPE) in Argentina.
The first MoU, signed on June 2, 2025, covers PPE under modules A, B, C, C2 and D of the EU PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. Assessments follow international standards, including IRAM, ISO, EN and ASTM.
The second MoU, signed on July 7, 2025, covers toys, enabling testing against key series standards such as IRAM NM 300, ISO 8124, ASTM F963 and EN 71. Together, the agreements allow SGS reports to be accepted directly by IRAM for mandatory certification, eliminating duplicate testing and accelerating market access.
