SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is pleased to announce two sessions of a live webinar on August 30, 2022, for manufacturers and service providers in the consumer products market: “Consumer IoT Cybersecurity Solutions: SGS Cybersecurity Mark and the Radio Equipment Directive 2024.”
In this webinar, two SGS experts will address some of the key issues related to cybersecurity of the internet of things (IoT) in the consumer market. With the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) coming into force on August 1, 2024, which will be mandatory for the majority of all wireless devices and products being sold on the European market, the webinar will aim to help all participants gain product certification.
Security frameworks in the consumer IoT industry are fragmented with regulations differing between countries and regions. The new RED will require manufacturers of consumer IoT products to consider cybersecurity.
Alex Rubert, Sales Manager, and Kelvin Yen, Global Cybersecurity Business Development Manager, both from SGS Brightsight, will discuss the drivers of cybersecurity in consumer IoT including the business impact of connected devices and will share the compliance and regulation landscape today and in the future. They will finish up by discussing how SGS can help with its cybersecurity mark before concluding with a Q&A session.
