SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is hosting a complimentary webinar, ‘Power Semiconductor Device Packaging Impurity Analysis’, on Wednesday July 26, 2022.
Semiconductor power module packaging, particularly for e-mobility or solar devices, is vulnerable to changes in environmental conditions like temperature and humidity. When these are sudden or extreme, issues such as outgassing and contamination can result in product failure, and standard microelectronic device procedures are not always enough to prevent them. Identifying the root causes of these failures, which can occur particularly in automotive or photovoltaic (PV) inverters, requires expert knowledge.
In this online seminar, SGS expert Gerald Dallman will look at typical failure mechanisms and recent developments in research analysis that are design to tackle them. He will demonstrate special sample preparation techniques to deal with issues such as metal migration and dendrite growth. General and material test procedures will also be covered, as well as an introduction to SGS’s solutions for power module packaging impurity analysis.
The webinar will be of interest to quality assurance experts and developers of microelectronic power device applications.
