AFIRM Releases v10 of its Restricted Substances List

Geneva (April 17, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 056.25, summarizing the Apparel and Footwear International RSL Management (AFIRM) Group’s 2025 Restricted Substances List (RSL).

AFIRM provides a framework for brands, retailers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with restricted substances worldwide. As a globally recognized organization, it supports sustainable and responsible RSL management in apparel, accessory and footwear supply chains.

Version 10 of the AFIRM 2025 RSL was released on February 1, 2025. It provides comprehensive guidelines by material for listed restricted substances, including Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) numbers, restriction limits, test methods and applicable legislative reporting requirements.

Companies are advised to review and adopt the latest AFIRM RSL to ensure compliance with current industry standards and regulatory requirements.
