SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is partnering with Zanzibar’s national assessment body to expand the country’s digital economy and facilitate its export/import trade.
Awarded a product verification of conformity (PVoC) contract by the Zanzibar Bureau of Standards for the third time, SGS is uniquely placed to provide services that complement the country’s drive to implement sustainable and innovative economic growth. This collaboration aims to develop key sectors, including imports and tourism.
As part of these services, SGS has the authority to grant a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for goods which are deemed to have reached satisfactory quality and safety standards. With sellers holding the responsibility for ensuring a valid CoC, SGS expertise, innovation and global network can provide a good understanding of vital compliance regulations to help businesses overcome regulatory hurdles.
Certification may be obtained via three specific routes and serves to protect Zanzibar’s people and environment against products which may have harmful effects on them. SGS’s knowledge of local requirements expedites a swift and secure pathway to successful market placement.
