Geneva (March 3, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 031.25, detailing China’s updated version of GB/T 31900-2024, the national product standard for woven children’s clothing.
GB/T 31900-2024 replaces the previous version, GB/T 31900-2015. Issued by the Standardization Administration of China, the new national standard will come into force on December 1, 2026.
Applying to children’s clothing primarily made from woven fabrics, the scope of the new version does not include clothes with down and feather fillings, clothing with textile fiber fillings, or clothing intended for infants of 36 months or younger.
SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 031.25 includes further information on the main physical and chemical property requirements required under GB/T 31900-2024, as well as specific technical changes, additions, revisions and deletions compared with the previous version.
