Geneva (August 27, 2025) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 122.25, detailing the European Union’s (EU) revision to the rules on substances and mixtures under its Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
CLP Regulation (EU) 2025/1222, issued in June 2025, adds 22 entries, including ozone, to the harmonized classification and labeling list of hazardous substances in Part 3 of Annex VI. Ten entries are also revised.
The effective date for (EU) 2025/1222 is February 1, 2027; however, substances and mixtures may be classified, labeled and packaged in accordance with the regulation before this date.
