SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is advising stakeholders that China has amended three mandatory standards relating to toys.
Published by the State Administration for Market Regulation on July 13, 2022, Announcement No.9 of 2022 contains amendments to:
- GB 6675.2:2014
- GB 6675.11:2014 – Swings, slides and similar activity toys for indoor and outdoor family domestic use
- GB 19865:2005 – Electric toys – Safety
SGS has published SafeGuardS 098.22 to help stakeholders understand the changes, which include additional exemptions and corrections to figures and tables (GB 6675.2:2014), modified requirements for minimum clearance between swing elements and the ground (GB 6675.11:2014), and exemptions to short-circuit tests and DC symbol marking (GB 19865:2005).

Effective dates for the amendments are:
- GB 6675.2:2014 – July 13, 2022
- GB 6675.11:2014 – transition period to February 1, 2023
- GB 19865:2005 – July 13, 2022
