SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 063.23 to provide an overview of the results of Health Canada’s recent compliance verification projects.
The compliance verification projects covered:
– Bassinets
– Children’s costumes
– Children’s upper outerwear
– Clothing storage units
A variety of products in each category were assessed against the requirements of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). Products were selected by Health Canada inspectors and tested at one of their product safety laboratories.
The report issued on May 16, 2023, details the number of products assessed, the number of products that failed to conform, the reason for nonconformity and the corrective actions that were then taken.
SGS’s SafeGuardS 063.23 summarizes this information and also provides details of what standards the products were assessed against. In addition, it provides links to the original reports.
