SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a SafeGuardS summarizing modifications to the proposed amendment of the California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) Warning by the Californian Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).
The OEHHA’s proposed modification is to the safe harbor warning methods required under Prop 65. This would require the inclusion of at least one chemical triggering warning to limit the usage of short-form warnings. Provisions are also included for online and catalog purchase warning labels.
SGS experts published SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 097.24 covers the proposed modifications and includes a table highlighting the differences between the original proposal and the modified proposal.
Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 097.24 for more details.
The OEHHA accepted comments on these additional modifications until June 28, 2024.
