SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has provided details of Ukraine’s announcement on its new chemical regulations law.
Published on July 26, 2024, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 847/2024, ‘On approval of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Chemical Products’ is modeled on the EU’s Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, ‘Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals’ (REACH). The Ukrainian technical regulation is intended to provide rigorous protection for human health and the environment.
Requirements, obligations and detailed lists of chemicals and their scope are included in the Regulation, which will become effective on January 26, 2025, six months after the date of its publication.
SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulations that may impact their business. SafeGuardS 128.24 provides a summary of Resolution No. 847/2024 and a link to the EU’s REACH law, for reference.
