SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 066.24 to keep stakeholders informed about changes to the list of standards for presumption of conformity with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Notice of Publication 0100/24 was announced by the United Kingdom’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on April 18, 2024. The changes affect several products, including children’s cots, cribs and soothers, gymnastic equipment, lighters and audio/visual, information and communication equipment.
The update includes five new entries, for:
– Children’s cots and folding cots for domestic use
– Table mounted chairs
– Soothers
– Children’s highchairs
– Chair mounted seats
It also replaces five existing entries, for:
– Parallel bars and combination asymmetric/parallel bars
– Cribs
– Carry cost and stands
– Lighters
– Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment
SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory and market changes that could impact their ability to operate. SafeGuardS 066.24 contains an overview of the update and includes a table detailing the new standards that demonstrate presumption of conformity.

The new standard came into effect on April 18, 2024.
