SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is advising stakeholders that Ukraine has issued legislation to regulate food contact cellulose films.
Ministry of Health Order No. 2374 of December 29, 2022 – ‘On approval of the requirements for materials and articles made of regenerated cellulose film intended for contact with food’- was issued in January 2023. It was then amended by Order No. 103 of January 19, 2023, implementing European Union (EU) Directive 2007/42/EC.
SGS SafeGuardS 025.23 contains further details of the contents of the Order, as well as a list of other recent Ukrainian regulations for food contact materials and articles.
The amended order will come into force on February 7, 2023, and it will enter into force on November 19, 2025, the day Law No. 2718-IX of November 3, 2022 ‘On materials and articles intended to come into contact with food’ becomes applicable.
