SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is pleased to provide details of a collaboration with Egypt’s General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) for training in vital industry standards and regulatory updates.
The GOEIC and the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) of Egypt are responsible for controlling imports and exports in the country, with GEOIC overseeing nonfood shipments, and NFSA focusing on food shipments and food safety regulations. GEOIC has evolved over time to include NFSA, which has allowed for the consolidation of food safety protection measures.
SGS has been chosen to provide training and certification for the EG71 GOEIC nonfood products program, and the EG72 NFSA food imports and exports program. Training in ISO 14001, ISO 22000, new ministerial decree 991/2015, and Egypt’s new 2/2020 decree will be given to enable GOEIC and NFSA staff to align their practices with industry standards.
This collaboration with GOEIC enables higher levels of conformity, consumer protection and operational efficiency, with regulatory compliance services which can empower businesses and offer a competitive advantage.
