SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is happy to present details of an enhanced trade verification scheme for businesses selling to the East African Community (EAC).
The EAC-Ready product certification scheme prepares products for entry into East African markets by ensuring they conform to East African standards. Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda and Tanzania (including Zanzibar) are all members of the EAC, which aims to standardize and regulate product quality and safety through the adoption of East African Standards (EAS).
As a trusted service provider in the region for nearly 20 years, SGS is able to offer the EAC-Ready product certification scheme, a voluntary service that enhances EAC members’ existing PVoC programs to streamline the certification process.
Involving product testing, audits, and documentary reviews, the EAC-Ready scheme saves time and money through faster issuance of certification, minimizing the administrative burden and building trust with consumers and regulatory bodies. Once certified, the products carry the SGS EAC-Ready certification mark.
The SGS Q3 PCA newsletter includes full details of the EAC-Ready product certification scheme and other product conformity assessment services available globally.
