On April 1, 2021, China’s new product standard for knitted clothing that
feels cool to touch – FZ/T 73067-2020 – came into effect. This standard covers
knitted clothing made predominantly from knitted fabrics with a contact
transient cool feeling function. It does not apply to clothing made for
children aged less than 36 months.
‘Transient cool feeling’ is defined as the rapid heat and temperature
drop when skin comes into contact with the lower temperature fabric. The cool
feeling is generated in the brain via the reflection of the sensory nerve endings in the skin.
Issued by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
and included in No. 48 announcement of approved industry standards in December
2020, FZ/T 73067-2020 contains requirements relating to internal quality and appearance
quality.
