SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 151.23 to give stakeholders an overview of Moldova’s Decision No. 622 of August 30, 2023, which revised the countries legislation on toy safety to further align it with that enforced in the European Union (EU).
SGS publishes regular SafeGuardS to keep interested parties informed on regulatory and market changes that may impact their business. In addition to broad details of Moldova’s latest revision, SafeGuardS 151.23 includes details of the important changes between Decision No. 622/2023 and Decision No. 808/2015 that originally approved the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Toys. These include clarification that the presence of a CE mark on the toy excludes the need for the SM mark and details of an expansion in the number of substances with specific limit values from four to 12.
Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 151.23 for more information.
Decision No. 622/2023 became effective on October 7, 2023.
