Under the Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme (KUCAS), implemented by the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) since June 17, 2006, all regulated products require a Technical Inspection Report (TIR) and Technical Evaluation Report (TER) from an approved certification body such as SGS.
In a recent update, as of April 2022, all shipments of children’s toys reaching Kuwait must obtain both a Gulf Type Examination Certificate, and a TIR, in order to be granted entry into the country. We are also pleased to announce that SGS Gulf Limited is accredited to issue TIRs for lubricants (included in the regulated categories of engines/gears/brake fluid).
Exporters have access to pre-shipment inspections, testing in accredited laboratories, audits of manufacturing processes and documentary checks/conformity assessments against the requirements of applicable technical regulations and standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
SGS is also an approved body for the issuance of Certificates of Conformity, required for regulated goods, providing businesses with assistance in gathering the necessary documentation and helping them through the certification process.
